Singapore Math Level 6 Curriculum Review

Singapore Level 6, like the rest of their curriculum, is divided into semesters – 6A and 6B. I have very mixed feelings about level 6. There are a number of new concepts presented to prepare the student for Pre-Algebra. As with most things Singapore, they are presented in a logical and engaging manner. As with the rest of the Singapore Primary Mathematics curriculum, Level 5 is divided into 2 semesters – 5A and 51B. We used the text book, the workbook, and the Intensive Practice book. With a minor exception, I was very pleased with this level. If you read my review of Singapore Math Level 4, you will remember that I was not thrilled with the section on fractions. Singapore Math Level 4 Curriculum Review

Singapore Math level 4 is divided into 2 semesters – 4A and 4B. To say I am a big fan of Singapore math would be an understatement. As with level 3, concepts are presented in a logical manner allowing more complex skills to seem simple. Level 4 builds the foundation upon which the students higher level math is built. Skills such as factoring and the measurement of angles is introduced all while reinforcing previous concepts. There was one area in which level 4 fell short – fractions. Read more….
